THE PRACTICE

THE COURSE

The course is intensive advanced 300hr training and any other certification will be required.

Like our 200Hr training, this training will naturally be practice focused as well. We will analyze all the poses of Classical Hatha Yoga. We will break down, analyze, learn how to perform, adjust and teach those poses and make creative and well structured series with them.

The anatomy lessons will hug the asana classes, complementing them by focusing on the understanding of movement patterns, their practical application to our practice and how each pose affects the joints, bones and muscles. We will take a deeper look, not only at the muscles & their fascia, but also at the nervous system. We will gain more insight into how the mind is connected to our body, how we can invest in that relationship, take the reigns and go more deep inside us. This practice comes from more than 14 years studies on hatha yoga based on knowledge of Sri, Sri, Sri Yogi Silent of Madras.

WITH A FOCUS ON

Our days will start with meditation, pranayama, and chanting, balancing us and setting the stage for the rest of the day. You will be introduced to new and advanced breathing techniques and practice different kinds of meditation methods and mantra chanting.

The philosophy classes will take us through the epic Yoga Sutras, where we will have in-depth, open-minded & constructive discussions in order to find ourselves there and see how we can apply the traditional yogic ethics & lifestyle to our modern lives.

In the afternoons, we will delve deeper into the practice of Hatha, as well as being introduced to even more styles of yoga, like Yin, Ashtanga, restorative, pre-natal and others, as well as having regular theme-based workshops.

All days will be challenging but very rewarding days await you. During this training we will spend many hours together, practicing, training and learning but also supporting and helping each other, through good and bad. varanasi is a strong city where Shiva lives, he protect us, but he can kill us (in figure way). You need to be prepared.

During this training you will work closer and for more hours with your teachers, who will always be there to support and guide you through this journey. You will bond and connect on a deeper level with your fellow students as well. You will live, eat and sleep close to each other as well as have many many hours of mutual practice where you will be asked to group up and study or practice your final lessons together.

On Sundays you will have your day-off where you can explore the sacred city and visit the temples, the Ganga, or take a walk near, depending on your energy levels.

WHAT TO EXPECTED

Daily, mornings will begin with meditation, pranayama and mantra chanting, followed by Hatha Yoga classes.

Early afternoons will be focused on deep learning of asanas with an emphasis on alignment, adjustments & teaching methodology. You will dive into the theoretical part, studying Yoga Philosophy or Anatomy.

The afternoon lessons will be focused on restorative styles of yoga such as Yin, Vinyasa flow, Nidra, introducing you to different styles of yoga such as pre natal yoga and specialised workshops like asanas with ayurvedic vision, shatkarma activities.

Late afternoon lessons will seal the day, with practicing what we learn, work on our final lessons and studying together as we watch the sun setting in Ganga river.

You will eat at healthy and nutritious recipes, all made from local indian vegetables.

You will have 2 days and half off, usually Sundays where you get to relax or enjoy the surroundings, visit temples, walk on ghats or organize in a small groups to explore Varanasi.

Get ready that we may have to adjust the day's activities, as in India the unexpected can happen at any time.

COMPLETION

TEACHING

As part of your final examination, you will be required to deliver a 1 hour Hatha Yoga class to your fellow yogis.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION

The course will end with a written exam focused on Asana analysis, anatomy and philosophy (when you come back home).

DIPLOMA

Successful graduates of the course receive an recognised certification by Yogalounge for the 300 hours yoga advanced - YLT 300+, with internationally validity.

VARANASI, INDIA

Varanasi allows you to enter into spirituality and discover the true history and philosophy of India.

Kashi (Varanasi) is the city of Lord Shiva, it is said to be in the trishul  of Lord Shiva, so worshiped by Yogis. The one who controls this city is Kaal Bhairav, the fiercest representation of Lord Shiva. Kaal Bhairav ​​​​is also called the Kotwal (Sheriff) of Varanasi. He says no one can stay in Varanasi without his permission, so we will ask his permission to stay in Varanasi and study Yoga.

In Varanasi there are 64 Bhairavs with their respective temples. You will have time to visit some. And... if there's one thing that will take your breath away, it's the sunrise in Varanasi. The sun reflecting off the Ganges and illuminating the Ghats is a unique sight. Every day we will practice Yoga at dawn on the banks of the Ganges. We will have time to admire the sunrise and the awakening of the city between rituals, ablutions, prayers and mantras. We will see up close how this city salutes the sun and celebrates Maa Ganga every day. Finally, the large Manikarnika crematorium, which you will have the opportunity to visit, is no less fascinating.

India 300Hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, Advanced – Program Detail

MEDITATION

Every morning will begin with meditation classes with focus mind and in silence. Experimente live behind the mind. Some days we will do meditation in a temple.

 

PRANAYAMA

Prana – breath, Yama – control – in accordance with the great yogis, breath equals to energy flow.

After meditation we will begin with pranayama classes, where you will have the chance to get grounded, look inwards and set intention and energy for the day ahead. You will practice your breath and gain conscious awareness of your body.

In this class you will learn and practice:

  • Yogic breathing
  • Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing)
  • Bhramari (humming bee breath)
  • Ujjayi (the psychic or victorious breath)
  • Bhastrika (bellows breath)
  • Kapalbhati (frontal brain cleansing breath)

Our approach to the traditional style of Hatha Yoga, based on knowledge  of Sri, Sri, Sri Yogi Silent of Madras, enhanced and refined with the newfound knowledge and information we are blessed to have learnt from years of exploration and practice. This class focuses on analysing and dissecting basic & intermediated postures. You’ll learn the correct alignment based on the traditional approach and in line with body mechanics, understand how to offer hands-on adjustments and how to structure them in a Hatha class. The teacher will always be present in your practice, observing and providing feedback.

In this class you will learn:

  • Deep analysis of the 80 postures and more (arm balances, back-bends, and inversions)
  • Analysis of subtle body in all postures
  • Modifications, other variations, and advanced variation of all postures
  • Adjustment (physical & verbal) theory and hands-on practice

You will take a deep dive into the understanding of the human body in today’s modern world, with a focus on the nervous, skeletal and muscular system. You will gain a deep understanding of how these systems work in harmony to create movement and gain the ability to articulate this through your yoga practice, teaching and everyday life.

This class is delivered in a conversational setting. Over the years, we have been able to master the delivery of complex concepts in a fun, interactive and intuitive way.

In this class you will learn and discuss:

  • Introduction to Anatomy and different body systems
  • Analysis of the skeletal system & connective tissue, muscular system and the vagal and nervous system
  • Movement analysis of all major joints and muscles and direct application to yoga practice & asanas

We will travel back in time to India and dive deep into the origins of yoga, how it reached today’s modern form and the value of yoga mythology in now a days. Focusing on philosophical concepts, you will learn how to adapt and apply them to our modern lives. These lessons are held in a conversational format, which enables students to actively engage and explore meanings through their own vision and stories.

In this class you will learn and discuss:

  • History and meaning of yoga
  • Some mythologic stories
  • The eight-limb path of yoga according to Patanjali
  • Prana, Vayus, Nadis, Chakras, Kundalini
  • The Gunas, Doshas, Introduction to a yogic diet
  • Mudras, Bandhas (energy locks) and Mantras
  • The meaning of Om
  • Lifestyle and ethics as a yoga practitioner and a teacher

We believe that you begin teaching from the moment you enter our shala. We aim for the lessons to be confidence-building and progressive. You’ll start with one-to-one lessons and gradually moving to bigger groups of students, eventually, you’ll be delivering. Through regular feedback from teacher and fellow students, you’ll improve with practice—gradually finding your unique voice and style as a teacher.

  • Practice teaching & receiving feedback
  • Observing others teaching & giving feedback
  • Learn & practice hands-on adjustment
  • Instruction, teaching styles, and qualities of a teacher

  • Planning and structuring a class
  • Dealing with injuries and safety precautions

The afternoon classes will serve to introduce the students to various styles of yoga, in addition to core course specification. Alternating, you will take part in restorative practice and themed workshops.

RESTORATIVE

To complement your morning dynamic Yang practice, the afternoons will focus on Yin practice. The classes will feature Yin yoga, Yoga Nidra, Restorative, Gentle Vinyasa.

WORKSHOPS

Asana-related, these workshops will cover handstands, hip openers, asanas with ayurvedic vision, shatkarma ativities, fun modules like partner yoga and spiritual immersions such as puja ceremonie, indian dance, eye gazing and bhakti.
